According to legend, hot sulphur springs were discovered near the Narikala River by King Vakhtang. The capital was eventually relocated there. At its height, visitors attended 60 thermal there. The brick domes of their roofs can be seen near the river. The architecture is n interesting combination of the Ottoman and Russian Empires.
