Set in turn of the century Austria, this play was a fore runner to The Matchmaker. City folk and rural folk learn life lessons, but mostly sneak around skipping their jobs. The costumes were a lively mishmash of traditional rural Austrian costumes and urban fashions with an inexplicable craze for plaid.
